The college, run by Lachoo Memorial College of Science Registered Society, was earlier known as Lachoo Memorial College of Science, Jodhpur. It was established in the year 1965, in fond memory of Late Shri Man Mohan Mathur (Lachooji). Shri Lachooji, who passed away at a young age, was a staunch nationalist and a freedom fighter. On 28th November, 1992 on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations, this Institution was renamed as "Lachoo Memorial College of Science & Technology" and the declaration was formerly made by the then Defence Minister, Shri Sharad Pawar. On the same occasion, the faculty of pharmacy was formally inaugurated and dedicated to the nation by the then Chief Minister of
Mid-1960s, formative years of post-independent India, demanded propagation of higher education in science streams leading to Medical and Engineering. Shri Mathura Das Mathur, one of the builders of modern Rajasthan had already been instrumental in founding the Engineering College, Jodhpur University (now Jai Narain Vyas University) and a Medical College in Jodhpur. He was a great visionary who could foresee a purely science college with uncompromising standards.
The College was established on 2 July 1965. foundation stone was laid by Shri Mohanlal Sukhadia, the then Chief Minister, Rajasthan on 16 April 1966 and Dr V K R V Rao, the then Minister for Education, India inaugurated this new building on 9 August 1969. We are running in the 40th year of serving the society. During this journey we have achieved various milestones in different fields.The College is included in 2(f) and Section 12(B) in the UGC act and affiliated to Jai Narain Vyas Univesrity, Jodhpur, Rajasthan Technical University, Kota and Rajasthan University of Health Sciences, Jaipur for different courses.
Rajasthan, Shri B.S. Shekhawat. This faculty was named after the founder President of this college Shri Jwala Dasji Mathur. The management on 19th May, 1994 decided the J.D.M. Faculty of Pharmacy to be now called as "Lachoo Memorial College of Science & Technology (Pharmacy Wing)". Lachoo Memorial College of Science & Technology, Jodhpur is located in an area of 7 acre, in Shastri Nagar, the heart of the city, about half a kms. away from Dr. S.N. Medical College. It is situated at a distance of 4 kms. from Railway Station, 6 kms. from Roadways Bus Stand and 7 kms. from Air Port.
5% of total number of seats are reserved for NRI/NRI sponsored students. The admission to NRI quota seats are made by college management strictly on merit basis.
