National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) is the first national level institute in pharmaceutical sciences with proclaimed objectives of becoming a centre of excellence for advanced studies and research in pharmaceutical sciences. The Government of India declared NIPER as an Institute of National Importance.
Running programmes in drug surveillance, community pharmacy and pharmaceutical management.
The Institute admits students for the M.Pharm., M.Tech.(Pharm.), M.S. (Pharm.) and Ph.D. programmes in its various departments every year.
M. Pharm.: B.Pharm. (qualified in GATE) with a minimum GPA of 6.75 on a 10-point scale wherever letter grades are awarded, or a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate wherever marks are awarded, or equivalent as determined by the Board of Studies and Research of NIPER.
M.Tech. (Pharm.): B. Pharm./B. Tech./B.E. in Chem. Engg. (qualified in GATE)/M.Sc. in a relevant discipline and qualified in GATE/NET with a minimum GPA of 6.75 on a 10-point scale wherever letter grades are awarded, or a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate wherever marks are awarded, or equivalent as determined by the Board of Studies and Research of NIPER.
M.S. (Pharm.) : B. Pharm. (qualified in GATE)/ M.Sc. in a relevant discipline and qualified in GATE/NET, with a minimum GPA of 6.75 on a 10-point scale wherever letter grades are awarded or a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate wherever marks are awarded, or equivalent as determined by the Board of Studies and Research of NIPER. B.V.Sc./M.B.B.S. with 60% marks in all previous examinations.
Ph.D.: M.Pharm. (qualified in GATE)/M.Sc. in a relevant discipline and qualified in GATE/NET /M.S. (Pharm.) in relevant discipline with a minimum GPA of 6.75 on a 10-point scale wherever letter grades are awarded or a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate wherever marks are awarded, or equivalent as determined by the Board of Studies and Research of NIPER. In exceptional cases, B.Tech./B.Pharm. (GATE qualified) candidates with GPA of 7.5 on a 10 point scale or 70% marks may be considered eligible for admission.
