GRADUATE CERTIFICATE COURSE IN MARINE ENGINEERING
(at TMI Induri)
.The Course duration of
this programme is five months.
The program will be conducted at
the Tolani Maritime Institute campus at Induri, Pune and the duration
of this program will be four months. The program would include courses
in engineering, management and project work.
On successful completion of the program at TMI, the students will be
awarded a course completion certificate, which would enable them to
seek direct admission to the second and final semester of the M. Sc.
Degree program conducted at The Department of Naval Architecture and
Marine Engineering at the Universities of Glasgow and Strathclyde in
Glasgow (UK).
Eligibility Criteria
Degree in Mechanical/ Production or Marine Engineering. Sailing marine
engineers with Certificate of Competency of Class IV or higher will
also be eligible. The campus accommodation would be available, if
required.
Fees
The total fees for the complete program in UK are approximately 11,000
UKP plus charges for staying etc. Under an arrangement with TMI, the
fee for the second semester will be 60% i.e. approximately 6,600 UKP
and that would have to be paid directly to them.
The fee for the program at TMI would be Rs. 3 lakhs, which includes
charges for residence. The food however, has to be charged extra. For
the TMI semester, liberal scholarships of about more than Rs. One lakh
will also be available and would lead to refund of some of the fee
amount.

Opportunities
The opportunities after completion of M. Sc. will be in the area of
classification societies, shipping and ship management companies and
other shipping related fields. Scotland allows a two year stay in a job
after completion of the Scottish qualification.
