Course Details:

Master of Architecture in Architectural Conservation (M.Arch.Architectural Conservation ), is a two years postgraduate Architecture Engineering degree Course in India. The master engineering course is designed in specialization in architecture which addresses the special requirement of built heritage comprising of the historic building, a group of building, areas cities and cultural landscapes in a comprehensive manner.
The study program is a multi-disciplinary which aim is to train architects in tracking conservation issue at the planning level, interpreting history in modern context, dealing with structural issues and documentation of cultural and built heritage.

The study develops candidates to deal with all practical and theoretical aspects and various types of problems involving all issue sensitive to social responsibility, sustainability and urban intervention, such as prepare construction and office budgets ability to understand structural analysis, heat load, electrical distribution and traffic flow and also possess imaginative and creative thinking, critical assessment to problem, ability to see the big smallest detail, which also possess practical and technical understanding of building materials and elements, structures, construction and services etc.

The course is suitable for those candidates wants to increase their knowledge for accelerating their career by exploring and acquire a critical understanding of Architectural Conservation.The course is designed to provide in-depth knowledge and information and techniques about the historic building, group of building, areas cities and cultural landscapes in a comprehensive manner. The study is focused on theoretical and practical aspects and Principles Techniques in an academic discipline such as The introduction of Conservation, Planning Theory, Structural Conservation (Material & Techniques), Architectural History, Computer Application and Visual Communication, Structural Conservation Management, Introduction to Archaeology and Musicology Historic Housing and Land Scape.

Eligibility

The candidate has to complete Bachelor's Degree in Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) or any other Bachelor’s Degree with relevant subjects like or equivalent examination, with minimum aggregate 60% marks, such candidates are eligible to take admission in Master of Architecture in Architectural Conservation

In India, it is mandatory to give entrance exams like Common Admission Test (CAT), some institute takes the personal interview and asked few questions on General Knowledge, Personality, Intelligence Assessment and English Language.

Course Duration / Learning Mode

The master’s study requires 2 years of the time period with an internship in India, It's a Full Time professional degree course. The course is not available for part-time and under distance education mode as it's a practical based study.

Further Studies

After the successful completion of this course, candidates can also pursue the higher studies and do Ph.D (Doctorate in Architectural Conservation ), and specialization or research oriented work in their respective field.

After the successful completion of the Master's study program one can recognize as Architect / Engineer and able to work as Architectural Technician, Architectural conservator, Building Control Officer, Architectural Engineer, Building Inspector, Architectural Theoretician, Professor, Lecturer.
