Department of Microbiology
The P.G Department of Microbiology had its genesis in 1988. It currently harbors a well equipped laboratory with several amenities. Several scholars statewide have utilised the esteemed laboratories and expertise of the staff for their M.Phil.,M.D.(Siddha)and Ph.D., works.
The thrust areas of the ongoing research programs in the department encompasses fields of
Bioleaching, Pollution Ecology, Enteric Microbiology, Probiotics, Enzymology, Bioremediation and
Biodegradation,Biofertilisers,Diseases of the Eye, Microbial Corrosion and Food Microbiology.
