Pharmacy Polytechnic, Ulhasnagar-3 is managed by Hyderabad (Sind) National Collegiate Board, Mumbai which has different institutions to its credit, having different branches of science, Technology and Humanities like Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Pharmacy, Engineering and Technology and various management courses. This premier institution was founded by our great leader Late Prin. K. M. Kundnani to run Degree and Diploma in Pharmacy together in the year 1971. The examination conducting body initially was Poona University and then shifted to Bombay University and finally the present Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education, Mumbai.The degree branch shifted to Worli premise in the year 1982 and since then the Polytechnic is known as Principal K. M. Kundnani Pharmacy Polytechnic, Ulhasnagar-3. The institute is situated just opposite to Railway Station of Ulhasnagar in district Thane of Maharashtra. The institution conducts Diploma in Pharmacy course which is recognized by Pharmacy Council of India, AICTE and State Government. The institution started receiving grants from Govt. of India and Govt. of Maharashtra from the year 1977. The curriculum extends for two years for which basic qualification for admission is HSC Science. It is post HSC two years course for Diploma in Pharmacy with 3 months of Practical training in Hospital/Drug Store. After completing training the, candidate can get registered under Maharashtra Pharmacy Council and can practice as registered pharmacist. This institute has well developed infrastructure and highly qualified staff. The results are excellent every year with meritorious students topping at the Board level. The institute has positive and progressive attitude. The faculties, administrative and non-teaching staff together with students make “KMK family”.

The Pharmacist abroad plays an important role as a health care professional and is considered to be a link between doctor and patient. To inculcate this concept of Community oriented Pharmacy Practice in budding Pharmacist, the institute created ‘Model Pharmacy’ where students can be trained for Patient Oriented Services. It is one of the first institute to take such progressive step. Progress of the institute : The institute is going from strength to strength and has emerged as one of the most reputed institute imparting Diploma in Pharmacy Education, the major highlights of the progress of this institute are summarized below : • Excellent academic records. • Students getting immediate job placements, some students opting for higher studies and excelling at B. Pharm. / M. Pharm level. • Central Govt. Grant of Rs.6 Lakh for Modernization of Laboratories in 1990 and State Govt. Grants of Rs.4.67 Lakhs for implementation of Education Regulation-91 in 1996. • AICTE Grant of Rs.5 Lakh under MOROB Project in Year 2001 for Modernization of Institute and removal of obsolescence. • Grant of Rs. 14.25 Lakhs in year 2001 for Community Polytechnic from Ministry of Human Resource Development.
