These five principles formulate, as is well known the five main characteristics of those who live up to the expectation of the College: "upright character" as the basic trait, "loyalty to authority" in relation to one's superiors, "devotion to duty" vis-a-vis oneself, "friendly comradeship" in one's dealings with companions and "social service" with a reference to the underprivileged and handicapped., The three colours of the college flag, blue signifying the achievements of the mind, red denoting prowess in sport and physical fitness, and white standing for integrity and nobility of character, also find a place in the college crest., Its best motto might be found in the scriptural words "with truth and love" (2 John), truth, uncompromising, inspiring and fascinating, love, all pervading, all enduring and irresistible., It believes in the supremacy of spiritual and moral values, in the importance of an all round education over mere instruction, in the training of character through regulated freedom. Its spirit manifests itself in uprightness of character, loyalty to authority, devotion to duty, friendly comradeship and social service., Since its inception, 117 students have figured in the Nagpur University Merit list of B. A. and B. Sc. Similarly 163 University awards for excellence have been bagged by the college students. SFS Students are known for their discipline and an ability to think for themselves, which makes them versatile and resilient to face the challenges in an increasingly competitive world., The extension of the college building is progressing. It will to accommodate a library, additional classrooms, auditorium, Seminar room etc. The work is expected to be completed by August - December 2007.
