Smt. Radhabai Sarda College of Arts and Commerce was established in the year 1966 under the Management of Sarda Education Trust under the guidance of Prof. Dada Saheb Kalmegh, former Vice - Chancellor of Nagpur University. The sole aim for the establishment of the college was to provide need based quality education to the people of Anjangoan and its surroundings. Now the college has three Post Graduate courses in Marathi, English and Home Economics. The college has a sanctioned faculty strength of 30 out of which16 are permanent teachers, 9 CHB teachers are working against sanctioned 9 posts and rest 5 posts are vacant. Out of 16 permanent teachers, 3 members possess doctorate degree and 3 members possess M.Phil degree. At the under graduate level, there are two courses B.A and B.Com. There are 8 departments. There are 14 administrative staff providing supporting services to the faculty and students. There are 864 students in the undergraduate courses and 119 students in P.G. Courses.

The college decided to have an introspection of the functioning of the departments, identify their areas of strength and weaknesses and plan for future expansion and growth. In view of this, the college volunteered to be assessed by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, Bangalore and submitted their self-study report. The Peer Team consisting of Shri N.K. Mishra, Vice Chancellor; Utkal University of Culture, Bhubaneswar as Chairman, Prof. C. Devarajulu Naidu, Professor of Economics and Dean, College Development Council of S V University, Tirupati as Member Coordinator and Dr. V.B. Mathad, Joint Director, Department of Collegiate Education, Bangalore as Member have visited the college during 9-10, February, 2004 for the assessment of the performance of the college. The Peer Team has examined in detail every aspect of the self study report prepared by the college. The peer Team perused all the relevant documents, visited all the departments, centres, common facilities and services. The Peer Team interacted with management, students, parents, alumni, teaching and nonteaching staff of the college separately. The interaction was fruitful. Based on all these and within the frame work of parameters stipulated by the NAAC, the Team made comprehensive assessment of the college and all its activities, under the seven criteria laid down by the NAAC. The commendable features of the college and also matters of concern are brought out in the Report for future guidance keeping in view the interest of the future expansion and growth of the Institution to provide quality based and value based education. This college caters to the needs of rural and tribal people of this backward Vidarbha region.The college has conducted two one day seminars sponsored by the UGC. It is observed that the management encourages faculty to participate in orientation programmes, refresher courses, workshops, seminars and conferences which enrich the knowledge of teachers and update their knowledge and skills. The co-curricular and extra curricular activities are looked after by different committees formed by the college. A novel written by one faculty member has been prescribed in the syllabus. Some faculty members have received awards. These aspects speak of the positive academic achievements of the Institution. The Department of Marathi is strong in teaching and many students got Gold medals at the University level.
