The Kerala Cartoon Academy is an organization of cartoonists in Kerala, India. It includes free-lancers recognized by the Kerala State Government. The Academy has a membership of more than 100 Cartoonists. Since its inception in 1982,[1] the Academy has been holding camps/workshops,exhibitions,seminars, study tours, festivals and competitions.More than 600 such camps/workshops have been organized so far.
The Kerala Cartoon Academy, in association with the British Council, will be organising a cartoon workshop in the month of March.
KCA 's Kottayam District Cartoon Camp was formally inaugurated by the veteran Cartoonist TOMS at the Anikkad Farmers Co-op Bank Hall on 20th June 2010 .
Present in the camp were , as teachers, Cartoonists Sukumar, P V Krishnan, Raju Nair, Balu, Sajjive, Karthika, Abba, Anil Vega, Prashobh, Surendran Varachal and 10 other cartoonists. The Camp Director Cartoonist Nathan and the local man-cum-KCA-Chairman Prasannan Anikkad ran around to see that all went off smoothly. The camp, though slated to contain 50 had to accommodate 80 budding cartoonists with 2 scores of the late-comers frustrated with being denied by their own fault of that rare chance in a lifetime. All children, aged between 10 and 22 and those who escorted them were provided sumptuous
