Smt HB Jasani Arts and Shri NK Jasani Commerce College, Rajkot started gratifying the need of quality higher education of the students of not only of Rajkot city but also of that of the moffusil areas as soon as its inception. Not only that, with its excellence in imparting education and keen intention in shaping the all round personality of its student thorough extra- curricular activities, the college turned out to be a boon for the girl students of the city. Initially the college imparted education through the medium of the mother tongue, which was an additional advantage for its increasing popularity. At the time of its inception the college was affiliated to Gujarat University and with the establishment of Saurashtra University in 1967, it came under the constituency of the local university in Rajkot. Since then, steadily and sound footedly it has continued to grow as one of the reputed Arts and Commerce colleges of the city.

A major focus of education at the Institution, in addition to academic excellence, is the development of correct attitudes and values among the students. Consequently, many of our alumni have shined out in the fields like, law, accountancy, public relation, social works, public service sector and different professions. The college aims at imparting integral education in its programmes of higher studies. In the next few years the college proposes to introduce career-oriented programmes to hone soft skills as well as professional skills of its students. As a part of this vision, various courses in distance learning mode through Indira Gandhi National Open University and Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application have already been introduced. Additionally, to meet the requirement of the changing time, college has also started imparting education through the medium of English in the Commerce faculty.
