Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth is located in New Delhi. The Ayurveda college was established on February 11, 1988. It is an autonomous institution, coming under Ayush, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth started regular functioning in 1991, with a major objective of promoting knowledge of Ayurveda in the country. The Vidyapeeth initiated one-year certificate course of RAV, in 1998. The aim of the college is to revive the traditional method of 'Gurukula' system of informal education of India. Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth (RAV) is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Health & F.W., Department of AYUSH, Govt. of India and is fully funded by the Government of India. It was registered with the Registrar Societies, Delhi Administration under Societies Registration Act, 1860 on 11th February 1988. It started functioning from the year 1991 at The Vidyapeeth was established with the main aim to preserve and arrange transfer of Ayurvedic knowledge from eminent scholars, and traditional Vaidyas who do or do not have formal qualifications, to the younger generation through the Indian traditional system of education ‘Guru
Shishya Parampara” and to prepare experts in texts of Ayurveda and in clinical skills.
