Master of Engineering Public Health (MEPH), is a two years postgraduate Health Professional Degree course of study in India. The aim of the master study program is to prepare health professionals to practice skillful and evidence-based preventive public health, conducts and communicate research that informs the diverse fields within public health and provides interdisciplinary expertise in the service of academic, professional and community-based health organizations.

The master study prepares candidates with the professional training necessary to enter the public health or health care profession, candidates are able to pursue career option based on their practicum experience. Course emphasis in Health promotion and Disease prevention as a means to reduces the cost by improving the health of our population.

The course of study is suitable for those candidates wants to increase their knowledge for accelerating their career by exploring and acquire a critical understanding of Public Health. The course of study is designed to provide in-depth knowledge, information, techniques and about the activities associated with Engineering in Public Health, in a comprehensive manner. The study is focused on theoretical and practical aspects and principles techniques in an academic discipline such as Introduction of Social and Behavioral Science, Introduction to Epidemiology, Basic Environmental Health Science, Management and Policy Science, Introduction to Biostatistics, Introduction to Public Health, Responsible Conduct of Research, Issues in Rural Health, Public Health in Practice, Planning and Developing Health Promotion Interventions.

Eligibility

The candidate has to complete Bachelor Degree in Academic Discipline such as Medical, Medicine, and Engineering or any other Bachelor Degree with relevant subjects or equivalent examination, with minimum aggregate 55% marks, such candidates are eligible to take admission in Master’s degree study program.

Course Duration / Learning Mode

This course requires study requires 2 years of the time period in India, It’s a Full Time professional degree course, but some candidates use part time, correspondence education program and also go for distance learning, study option to earn this degree.

The Master degree holder have excellent career opportunities in Colleges & Universities also in both Public and Private Health Care.

After the successful completion of the course, one can be recognized as Health Care Administrator / Social Worker and able to work as Health Educator, Community Health Worker, Health Education Specialist, Health Promotion Coordinator, Public Relation Manager, Minority Health Research Analyst, Minority Health officer or Administrator, Psychologist, etc.
