Sri D. N. R. Government Degree College for Women, Palakol, West Godavari, Dist., Andhra Pradesh volunteered to be assessed by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and submitted the Self-Study Report to NAAC in December 2005 A Peer Team was constituted by the Council to visit the institution and validate the Self-Study Report. The Peer Team, consisting of Prof Rupa B. Shah, Vice Chancellor, Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thakersey Women's University, Mumbai as Chairperson, Prof (Mrs) Ranganayakie Rao, former Principal.Sri Dasari Narayana Rao Degree College for Women was started in1982 by Palakol Education Society. The institution is named after Sri Dasari Narayana Rao, a famous Film Actor/Producer/Writer/Director (who is currently the Union Minister. He has contributed immensely for the establishment and the development of the institution. The college has the distinction of being the first Government degree college for women in the district.
