Dr. Lt. Col P.A Raju after his superannuation from the Army founded a Junior College at jami with the help of his friends, in the memory of his daughter Miss Shobha Raju (1966-1982). This junior college was established in July 1991 and has been self sufficient in all respect. Later in October 1994 a degree college was started with help from his friends again. By the end of the third year the college was running on a self sustained manner. It may be noted that the institute aims at providing collegiate education in Jami which is a rural area, at the door step and at a lesser cost. These two institutions fulfill the axiom of neighborhood schools that had been the buzz word of all the commissions gone into Indian education, since independence.
