Scholarship

Applications are invited for a three-year Daphne Jackson Trust Fellowship that will be hosted by the University of Roehampton. The fellowship is intended for individuals returning to research in the broad disciplines of Zoology and Ecology, and they will join the Centre for Research in Ecology, Evolution and Behaviour (CREEB) within the Department of Life Sciences.

Eligibility

  1. Daphne Jackson Fellowships are retraining fellowships for women and men who have taken a break of two years or more from STEM research for family, caring or health reasons.

Requirements for all candidates

  1. The application process for a Daphne Jackson Fellowship is competitive. Individuals wishing to be considered for a Fellowship must meet the following criteria:
  2. A career break of at least two years’ duration, taken for family, health or caring reasons
  3. A good first degree in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) subject
  4. A PhD, or at least three years research experience (academic or industrial) prior to the career break (with evidence of scholarly outputs)
  5. Good command of English (spoken and written)
  6. Good computer skills
  7. Lecturing to degree level that takes up more than 0.5 FTE
  8. Studying for MSc in a field related to your Fellowship as this would be considered to be retraining
