Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the International Olympiad of English Language (iOEL), organized by the SilverZone Foundation, are as follows:

Eligibility Criteria for iOEL

  1. Classes: The iOEL is open to students from grades 1 to 12. All students currently enrolled in these classes can participate.
  2. Participation Requirements:
    • For a school to register students, there must be a minimum of 20 students participating from that school.
    • Schools must submit the registration forms on behalf of their students, as individual registrations are not accepted.
  3. Performance Criteria:
    • Students who rank in the top 1000 in Level 1 are eligible to progress to Level 2 of the competition.
    • The first rank holders from Level 2 (for classes 6 to 12) are eligible for Level 3, which is the final level of the Olympiad, conducted in New Delhi, India.
  4. Academic Performance: While there are no strict academic performance requirements to participate, it is noted that first rank holders from their respective classes with a minimum of 75% marks in their previous assessments are recognized for their achievements.

Levels of Examination

  1. Level 1:
    • Participants: Open to students from grades 1 to 12.
    • Conduct: The exam is administered in the students’ respective schools during school hours.
    • Format: The exam can be taken in both online and offline modes.
    • Question Type: Objective-type multiple-choice questions.
    • Duration: 40 minutes.
    • Number of Questions:
      • Classes 1-2: 25 questions
      • Classes 3-5: 30 questions
      • Classes 6-8: 35 questions
      • Classes 9-12: 40 questions
