Salt Lake Shiksha Niketan is the brain child of Salt lake Sanskritik Sansad, an organization in service of the people of Salt lake and surrounding areas since 1982. The school was inaugurated by Dr. Ashim Dasgupta in the year 2005, and began with 68 students from classes LKG to V.The school got its CBSE (Class 10) affiliation in the year 2012 and affiliation for senior secondary in the year 2013.The school has now Science and Commerce stream in class XI & XII.
