It is one of the oldest & renowned school run by the Railway administration. It was established in the year 1868. Most recently this school affiliated with the CBSE Syllabus from I-XII after a great Endeavour only to impart good education and all round development of children of Railway men and others. It will not be exaggerated to mention here that this is the first school in Eastern Railway to obtain CBSE affiliation and only the sixth amongst the Rly. Institution of entire Indian Railways. Affiliation of CBSE has been sanctioned w.e.f. 2004-05. Every wings of Rly. Inter College (Primary Section from I to V Middle Section No. 1 from III to V, Middle Section No. 2 from VI to VII will be gradually converted to English medium from Hindi medium.
