The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) is a private, non-governmental board of school education in India. It conducts the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and the Indian School Certificate (ISC) examinations for Class 10 and Class 12 students respectively. The CISCE board was established in 1958 and is headquartered in New Delhi.
The ICSE and ISC exams are considered to be more challenging and rigorous than their counterparts, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the State Board exams. The CISCE curriculum places a strong emphasis on language skills, with English being the primary medium of instruction in most of the schools affiliated with the board. The curriculum also includes a wide range of subjects such as mathematics, science, social studies, literature, and languages.

CISCE
CISCE is one of the most respected educational boards in India and is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The board is also recognized by the government of various countries, including the United Kingdom, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates.
The assessment of the students is based on their performance in the final exams and their continuous assessment throughout the year. The CISCE board also conducts several workshops, seminars and training programs for teachers and students to improve the quality of education and to keep them updated on the latest trends and techniques in teaching and learning.

Indian School Certificate (ISC)
The Indian School Certificate( ISC) Examination has been devised as an examination for English medium students. It is formed in accordance with the recommendations of the New Education Policy 1986, after a two-year course of studies beyond the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (Year-10) Examination or its equivalent. All students must enter and sit for the English language with three, four or five other elective subjects and must have been evaluated internally by the School and secured a passing grade in Socially Useful Productive Work and Community Service (compulsory). Private candidates are not allowed to appear for this examination.
