BHU SET 2025 – Notification Released, Application Form, Admit Card

BHU SET 2025 will be held from 07 to 11 May 2025. BHU SET 2025 is the School Admission Entrance Exam conducted by BHU. The Banaras Hindu University School Entrance Test is a School level test for admission to Class 9, 11 in Central Hindu Boys’ School and Central Hindu Girls’ School.

 The Banaras Hindu University (BHU) conducts the BHU SET for admission to Central Hindu Boys’ School and Central Hindu Girls’ School in Classes 9, and 11.

BHU SET 2025 Exam Date

Eligibility

For class IX : 13 Years to 15 years of age as on 31.03.2025 i.e. date of birth should not be before
31.03.2010 and after 31.03.2012 and have passed class VIII examination from a
recognized school. (Child born on 1st April, 2012 will also be considered.)
For class XI : 18 Years of maximum age as on 31.03.2025 i.e. date of birth should not be before
31.03.2007 and have passed class X examination from a recognized Board/University
with the required percentage of marks/grades as under noted:

The Minimum Number Of Available Seats
CHBS: Class IX–100, XI Maths Stream–38+50*, XI Biology Stream–25, XI Arts Stream– 12 and XI Commerce Stream–12. 
CHGS: Class IX–30, XI Maths Stream–17, XI Biology Stream–16, XI Arts Stream–45
and XI Commerce Stream–25.

Before you apply – First keep the documents required for the BHU SET application form 2025.

How to apply? – Go to bhuonline.in and click link to apply. Then enter details asked in the BHU SET registration. After that upload documents and pay fee as prescribed for BHU SET exam.

For external candidates (coming through SET):
(i) 60% marks or equivalent grades and above in class X in aggregate for admission in Maths & Biology Stream. Further 50% marks or equivalent grade and above is essential in each subject of Maths and Science.
(ii) 55% marks or equivalent grades and above in class X in aggregate for Commerce Stream.
(iii) Class X passed for Arts stream.

Method Of Selection

On the basis of the marks obtained in the Entrance Test a Merit List will be drawn for admission in each class and a candidate will be given a seat in the concerned class strictly on the basis of the merit. In case of a tie the Banaras Hindu University Guidelines will be followed. – For admission in class IX and XI, the candidates will have to come for counseling/admission and they will be offered seats in the class/subject combination of their choice strictly according to their merit ranking so long as the seats remain available. The candidates appearing for counseling/admission in class XI will have to exercise their choice of subject combination immediately on the day of counseling/admission.
