Hyderabad, May 31, 2021: The National Service Scheme Cell (NSS) of (MANUU) today organized “World No Tobacco Day” on the direction of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Health and Family Welfare.

On this occasion, Prof. S M Rahmatullah, Vice Chancellor I/c administered the pledge online to the students and staff that we will not use any kind of tobacco products and will also advise our relatives and friends to stay away from tobacco products. Using tobacco causes lung damage and other diseases which makes life indigestible, he said. Therefore, it is important to stay away from cigarettes etc.

Prof. Siddiqui Mohd Mahmood, Registrar I/c said that tobacco products especially gutkha etc. increase the chances of oral cancer and every year a large number of people are affected by it and many are losing their lives. Prof. Mohammad Fariyad, NSS Coordinator arranged the meeting. Prof. Abdul Wahid, Dean School of Technology; Dr. Mohd Yousuf Khan, Principal, Polytechnic Hyderabad were also present at the University conference hall on the occasion.
