Osmania University Common Entrance Test (OUCET) is conducted by Osmania University for admissions into various PG, PG diploma and Five year Integrated Programmes offered by Osmania, Telangana, Mahatma Gandhi and Palamuru Universities. Directorate of Admissions, OU has been successfully carrying out the gigantic task of conducting entrance tests and admissions to various courses offered by Osmania, Palamuru, Telangana and Mahatma Gandhi Universities and their affiliating institutions since 2000-2001 academic year.

Eligibility Criteria

Languages :
i) Must have studied the concerned language either in Part-I or in Part-II of the qualifying examination for at least two years and for a minimum of 200 marks. for atleast two years and for a minimum of 200 marks.

ii) Must have obtained 40% marks in that part (part-I or part-II of the qualifying examination), where the candidate has studied the concerned language.

iii) For Persian, in addition to above, any graduate with Persian or Arabic or Urdu as one of the languages either in Part-I or Part-II is eligible.

Economics*/ History/ Political Science/ Public Administration :

– 40% marks in Part-II of the graduation with concerned subject as an optional. The candidate must have studied at least four papers of 100 marks each in the concerned subject at graduation level.

Philosophy / Theatre Arts :
– Any B.A./B.Sc. /B.Com. graduate (except oriental)with 40% marks.

Sociology / MSW /AIHCA :
– Any Graduate (except oriental) with 40% marks.

M.C.J. :
– Any Graduate (except oriental) with 40% marks

B.L.I.Sc./M.L.I.Sc. (2 yrs.Integrated) :
– Any Graduate with 40% marks.

M.L.I.Sc. :
– B.L.I.Sc. with 40% marks.

Psychology :
– 40% marks in Part-II with Psychology as an optional at B.A. / B.M.R. / M.Ed. / M.A.(Education) / M.Sc.(Home Science) / Diploma in Child Psychology or Industrial Psychology.

Islamic Studies
– Any graduate with Islamic studies / Philosophy /History / Commerce / Sociology / Political Science /Economics /Urdu / Persian / Arabic as one of the optionals in part-II with 40% marks. or
– Any graduate with Arabic / Persian / Urdu as second language in part-I with 40% marks. or
– Any graduate (with 40% marks) with Diploma in Arabic / Persian / Urdu from OU or any recognized institution by OU.

Linguistics :
A Graduate (with 40% marks in part-II) in B.A. / B.Sc./ B.Com. with any language subject having studied for two years for a minimum of 200 marks.

Master Of Science

  1. All the courses are of two years duration.
  2. Candidates should have passed B.Sc., B.A., or its equivalent examination with not less than 40% marks in the aggregate of Part-II (for SC/ST candidates a pass in the qualifying examination is sufficient) and studied the subject(s) mentioned in column(3) of the Table below as optional(s) at the bachelor’s degree level.
  3. Candidates passing the bachelor’s degree examination compartmentally are also eligible provided they secured not less
    than 40% marks in the aggregate of Part – II.

Master Of Commerce
– B.Com. with 40% marks in Part-II

Faculty Of Education
1 M.Ed. : B.Ed. Degree with 55% Marks (50% for SC/ST/BC candidates)
2. M.P.Ed. : B.P.Ed./B.P.E. with 55% Marks (50% for SC/ST/BC candidates)

PG Diploma Courses:
– Candidate Should Have Master Degree With Aggregate of 50%.

How to Apply

  • The Students interested in notification of OUCET should first click on Direct Link
  • Enter the OUCET notification
  • After appearing students has to look at full notification about Eligibility criteria.
  • Then Fill application form about applicants details like name, date of birth, etc..
  • Make payment of application fee or registration fee
  • After completion of online form press “Submit” button.
  • At last, Take printout of application for future reference

Exam Pattern

  • The entrance tests in all the subjects except that of M.P.Ed. will consist of 100 multiple choice objective questions for 100 marks.
  • For M.P.Ed. Course the entrance test will be of 75 multiple choice objective questions for 75 marks.
  • The remaining 25 marks will be awarded by the Department of Physical Education, Osmania University for the Sports achievements of the candidates.
  • The entrance test will be of 90 minutes duration.
  • The entrance test will consist of any 3 or 4 varieties of objective type items such as analogies, classification, matching, comprehension of a research study / experiment / theoretical point of view, etc., with multiple answers besides the usual multiple choice items. The items will be framed only from the syllabus of entrance test.

Pattern of Entrance Test for Admission to M.Sc.

  • M.Sc Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Environmental Science, Forensic Science, Genetics, Microbiology and Nutrition & Dietetics is as follows:
  • Candidates have to appear for a common entrance test, comprising of Part-A Chemistry for 40 Marks and Part-B (One of the optionals studied at B.Sc. level for 60 Marks.
  • The optionals are Physics, Botany, Zoology, Genetics, Microbiology, Biochemistry and Biotechnology.

Exam Pattern for Admission to Integrated PG Programmes

For 5 Yrs Integrated PG Programmes, the entrance test patterns are as follows:

MBA

  • The paper has two parts – A & B.
  • Part – A: Section-AVerbal Ability containing 1 to 25 and Section-B General Knowledge containing 26 to 40.
  • Part – B: Section-C (Numerical Data Analysis) containing 41 to 70 and Section-D Reasoning and Intelligence) containing 71 to 100 multiple choice questions with four alternatives a, b, c & d.

M.A. Applied Economics

The paper has five parts– A, B, C, D & E.

  • Part – A (Mathematics) containing 1 to 40,
  • Part– B General English containing 41 to 55,
  • Part – C (General Knowledge) containing 56 to 70,
  • Part – D Current Affairs containing 71 to 85 and
  • Part – E (General Economics) containing 86 to 100 multiple choice questions with four alternatives a, b, c & d.

M.Sc in Chemistry & Pharmaceutical Chemistry

  • The paper has four sections – A, B, C & D.
  • Section– A Chemistry containing 1 to 34,
  • Section – B Physics containing 35 to 67,
  • Section – C Mathematics containing 68 to 100 multiple choice questions with four alternatives a, b, c & d. Sections A & B are common for both M.P.C & B.P.C students.
  • Section – C Mathematics is for M.P.C students and
  • Section – D Biology is for B.P.C students.

Admit Card / Hall Ticket

The candidate should verify all the information in the admit card. If any issue is found, then get it corrected with the concerned authority.

The candidates are required to carry the admit card to the examination hall. Without it, you will not be allowed to enter the examination hall. It is also very important to document for the further admission processes.

Cutoff

Osmania University PGCET is an Entrance Test for admission into post graduation courses (M.Sc, M.A, M.Com, M.C.J, B.L.I.Sc, M.L.I.Sc, M.S.W, M.Ed, P.G Diploma course and 5 years Integrated Engineering programmes) in Osmania University , Telangana, Mahatma Gandhi and Palamuru universities in their campus & its affiliated colleges. The minimum cutoff marks of OUCET is 25% and there is no cutoff for SC/ST category.

Result 

OUCET (CPGET) Result has been made available officially after few weeks from the completion of examination. The result has been prepared for every exam participated candidate individually. Candidates are able to access their result from 20th September 2022 through online mode. 

The result is prepared by the authority on the basis of candidate’s performances in the entrance examination. Candidates are advised to keep their result safe till the completion of Admission process.
