Master of Visual Arts in Painting and Master of Visual Arts Eligibility Criteria:

Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:

I. Master of Visual Arts in Art History

Duration: 2 Years / 3 Years**

Eligibility: A Second class Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts from a recognized University (OR) A Second class Bachelors Degree in Humanities with proven aptitude in Fine Arts and its theoretical studies

II. Master of Visual Arts in Painting

Duration: 2 Years

Eligibility: A Second class Bachelors Degree in Painting with not less than 55% of marks

i) Candidates should have passed the qualifying exam from University of Kerala or should have passed the qualifying exam from a University recognized by the University of Kerala, as equivalent thereto in the 10+2+3 pattern of study

ii) Candidates should have passed the qualifying Examination at the time of submitting application for the Entrance Examination

iii) Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from other Universities should produce the eligibility certificate obtained from the University of Kerala, at the time of admission

iv) Copy of the Degree Certificate/Provisional Certificate showing the class obtained should be attached

v) Reservation and relaxation in percentage of marks as per the University

=> The hard copies of the application shall be submitted along with a demand draft worth Rs.500/- drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, University of Kerala, payable at Service Branch, Thiruvananthapuram

For applying to two programmes, a total ofı Rs.550/- (Rupees fifty for additional subject) shall be remitted by way of demand draft

The University of Travancore which eventually became the University of Kerala was established in 1937 by a promulgation of the Maharaja of Travancore, Sri Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma who was also the first Chancellor of the University. Sir C. P Ramaswamy Ayyar, the then Diwan of the State, was the first Vice-Chancellor.
