MATLAB is a software package for high performance numerical computation, visualization, and programming. It provides an interactive environment with hundreds of built-in functions for technical computation, graphics and animation. This package is rich in toolboxes and hence finds applications in Data Mining, signal processing, parallel computing, neural network, etc., The language has built-in math functions that enables one to reach a solution faster than with spreadsheets or traditional programming languages such as C/C++ or Java. Upon the completion of the course, the participants will gain the comprehensive understanding of MATLAB as a programming language as well as the use of MATLAB for carrying out research in Data Mining.
