Karnataka Teachers Eligibility Test (KARTET) conducted by Government of Karnataka for hiring Teachers. Interested candidates willing to participate in the test are required to submit their online applications through KARTET website.

Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET) is for the candidates aspiring to become teachers in primary (class I-V) and upper primary (VI-VIII) schools in the state of Karnataka.

Eligibility Criteria

=> Candidates Passed PUC/ Senior Secondary Examination or its equivalent with minimum 50% marks or B.A/ B.Sc along with 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/ 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)/ 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) etc.

Exam Pattern

As mentioned above there will be two papers in the KARTET Paper I for Primary Classes I to V and Paper II for Elementary Classes VI to VIII. Detailed Pattern for both Paper I and Paper II is provided below for your reference Paper I (for Classes I to V Primary Stage:
i) Child Development & Pedagogy: 30 MCQs, 30 Marks
ii) Language-I: 30 MCQs, 30 Marks
iii) Language-II: 30 MCQs, 30 Marks
iv) Mathematics: 30 MCQs, 30 Marks
v) Environmental Studies: 30 MCQs, 30 Marks

KAR TET Syllabus consists of two Objective Type Question Papers. Each paper will consist of 150 MCQs and each question carries one marks totaling for 150 marks; duration of the examination - two-and-a-half hours

Paper II (for Classes VI to VIII Elementary Stage:
(i) Child Development & Pedagogy (compulsory): 30 MCQs, 30 Marks
(ii) Language-I (compulsory): 30 MCQs, 30 Marks
(iii) Language-II (compulsory): 30 MCQs, 30 Marks
(iv) (a) For Mathematics & Science: 60 MCQs, 60 Marks, (b) For Social Studies/Social Science teacher: 60 MCQs, 60 marks
