Ceramic Technology

About

Ceramic engineering is the technology of creating objects from inorganic, non-metallic materials. It is done either by heat or lower temperatures using precipitation reactions from high-purity chemical solutions. It includes the purification of raw materials, the study and production of the chemical compounds, their formation into components and the study of their structure, properties etc.

The special characteristic of ceramic materials finds its applications in materials engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering and mechanical engineering. As ceramics are heat resistant they are used for doing those work for which metal and polymers are not suitable. Ceramic materials are used various industries like mining, aerospace, medicine, refinery, food and chemical industries, packaging science, electronics, industrial and transmission electricity, and guided lightwave transmission.
