TS SET 2024 – Osmania University, acting on behalf of the Telangana State Government, declares the conduction of the Telangana State Eligibility Test (TS-SET) from August 28th to 31st, 2024. This examination aims to ascertain the eligibility of Telangana students for the position of Assistant Professor & Lecturer in universities and colleges across the state.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who have obtained a minimum of 55% marks (without rounding off) in their Master’s Degree (such as M.A., M.Sc., M.Com, MBA, MLISC, M.Ed., M.PEd., MCJ, LLM, MCA, and M.Tech (CSE & IT only)) are eligible to apply for the TS-SET. However, candidates belonging to the Backward Classes (BC), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), or Persons with Disability (PwD) categories who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in their Master’s Degree are also eligible for the test.
Candidates who are currently pursuing their Master’s Degree or have appeared for their final year Master’s Degree examination with pending results may apply for the test. However, such candidates will be provisionally admitted and considered eligible for the Aand to apply, pleasessistant Professor / Lecturer position only after they have passed their Master’s Degree examination with at least 55% marks (50% marks in case of BC/SC/ST/PwD categories) within two years from the date of the SET result. Failure to meet this requirement will result in disqualification.
Transgender candidates will receive the same relaxation in terms of fee, age, and qualifying criteria as those available to SC/ST/PwD categories.
Ph.D. Degree holders who completed their Master’s level examination before September 19th, 1991, irrespective of the result declaration date, are eligible for a 5% relaxation in aggregate marks (from 55% to 50%) for appearing in SET.
Candidates are advised to choose the subject of their Post Graduation for the TS-SET examination. The list of subjects for the TS-SET examination can be found in Point No. 12.
Candidates are not required to submit any certificates or documents to support their eligibility or send a printout of their Application Form (Confirmation Page) to the TS-SET office. However, candidates must ensure their eligibility for the test and present original certificates during the certificate verification stage, applicable only to qualified candidates. Any detected ineligibility at any stage will result in the cancellation of candidature and may lead to legal action.
Candidates with a Post-Graduate Diploma from an Indian University/Institute or a Foreign Degree/Diploma from a Foreign University/Institute should verify the equivalence of their Degree/Diploma with a Master’s Degree from recognized Indian universities through the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi (www.aiu.ac.in).

- There is No Upper age limit to apply for TS-SET examination
Application Process
Prior to submitting the Online Application Form, candidates are advised to thoroughly read this notification. Those intending to register for TS-SET 2024 must exclusively apply online via the TS-SET website: www.telanganaset.org. Following UGC norms, each candidate is permitted to submit only one application. Any submission of multiple Application Forms by a candidate will be deemed unacceptable.

TS SET 2024 Exam Pattern
- The Test will consist of two papers. Both the papers will consist of only objective type questions and will be held in 3 Hours of duration in one session as under:

- Paper-I:
- shall consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions each carrying 2 marks. The questions which will be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, Comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.
- Paper-II:
- shall consist of 100 objective type compulsory questions each carrying 2 marks which will be based on the subject selected by the candidate.
- All the questions of Paper-II will be compulsory, covering entire syllabi
Subject & Syllabus of Test
- Question paper for Paper-I is common for all subjects in which SET is conducted and it will be bi-lingual (English and Telugu), Paper-II of certain subjects will also be bilingual. All questions of Paper II will be compulsory, covering the entire syllabus. Syllabi for all T S – SET-2023 subjects can be downloaded from the websites www.ugcnetonline.in , www.telanganaset.org and www.csirhrdg.res.in. The TS-SET office will not send the syllabus to individual candidates.
