FMGE June 2024 will be held on 6 July 2024 by NBEMS. Its admit card will release on 03 July 2024. The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) is a National level Medical exam organized by the National Board Of Examinations In Medical Sciences (NBEMS). It is a screening test that assesses the knowledge and understanding of medical graduates who have obtained their qualifications from medical institutions outside India. The examination aims to ensure that foreign medical graduates possess the necessary competencies to practice medicine in India.

This is a screening test – Any Indian citizen/Overseas citizen of India possessing a primary medical qualification awarded by any medical institution outside India who is desirous of getting provisional or permanent registration with Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council has to compulsorily qualify this exam.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for FMGE, candidates must fulfill certain criteria, which include:
- Having a primary medical qualification (MBBS) from a recognized foreign institution.
- Completing the necessary documentation and obtaining the required documents, such as the provisional or permanent registration certificate from the Medical Council of the country from where the candidate obtained the medical qualification.
- Meeting the minimum qualification requirements specified by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
- The candidate must be a citizen of India or an Overseas Citizen of India.
- The candidate should possess a primary medical qualification recognized by the Indian Embassy concerned as eligible for enrollment as a medical practitioner in the country where the institution awarding the qualification is located.
- The submitted document must demonstrate that the candidate has successfully completed all necessary courses of the primary medical qualification with satisfactory results as per the institution’s requirements.
Application Process
The application process for FMGE generally involves the following steps:
- Candidates are advised to read the Information Bulletin carefully for eligibility criteria, fee structure, scheme of examination and instructions regarding submission of online application form
- Application form for FMGE June 2024 can only be submitted online at https://nbe.edu.in from 29th April 2024 (1 PM Onwards) to 20th May 2024 (Till 11:55 PM)
- There is no other methodology for application submission. Application submitted through any other mode shall be summarily rejected.
Examination Fee
- Examination Fee : Rs.5250/- + GST @ 18% 945
- Total Amount Payable : Rs.6195/-
- Mode of Payment: Online through Credit Card/ Debit Card/Net Banking
Exam Pattern
The exam pattern is as follows
- Mode of Exam – The exam is a Computer Based Test.
- Question type – The questions are Multiple choice questions.
- Number of Questions – There are 300 questions in the entrance exam.
- Total Marks – Maximum marks in the exam is 300.
- Exam Duration – The entrance exam is of 300 minutes (split into 2 papers).
- Language of Question Paper – The question paper is in language English.
Marking Scheme –
- Candidates get +1 marks for correct answer.
- And negative marks is 0 for incorrect answers
FMGE is divided into two parts of 150 questions each with a time allocation of 150 minutes for each part. There is a scheduled break between the two parts.

FMGE Sample Papers
The FMGE sample papers refer to model question papers. They are also key to this Medical entrance exam preparation. The FMGE sample paper by NBEMS, if any, is official. However, you can also use the FMGE sample question paper by other bodies.
FMGE Previous Year Question Papers

State Medical Council Registration
Once candidates obtain their FMGE pass certificate, they need to apply for registration with the respective State Medical Council (SMC) to practice medicine in a particular state in India. The registration process may involve submitting the required documents, including the FMGE pass certificate, educational certificates, identity proof, and a registration fee. Each state has its own registration guidelines and requirements that candidates must fulfill.

- Copy of Address Proof (PAN Card/Voter ID/Passport/
- Driving License/ Aadhar Card).
- Latest Passport size Photographs
- Copy of Date of Birth Proof (Certificate of Matriculation).
- Copy of 10+2 passing certificate.
- Copy of 10+2 mark sheet.
- Copy of internship certificate (if done abroad).
- Copy of fail certificate/ result for Ex-candidates.
