- Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) is going to conduct the Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) in Haryana. It organizes this test to recruit various teacher vacancies in multiple govt. schools

Eligibility Criteria
- All individuals who possess minimum educational qualifications etc. as delineated in the service rules relating to the teachers of all the three levels (available on the website of the School Education Dept. Haryana and also in these guidelines are eligible to take the test HTET which will be conducted for the following three levels:
- who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V (Primary Teacher) and fulfills the minimum qualification
- who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII (TGT-Trained Graduate Teacher) and fulfills the minimum qualification
- who intends to be a PGT (Post Graduate Teacher) and fulfills the minimum qualification
Minimum Educational Qualification
For Teachers of Classes I-V (Paper I)
- Passed Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with 45% marks with 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education / 4 year B.El.Ed /2 year Diploma in Education in Special Education are also eligible (or);
- Bachelor Degree (50 % marks) and B.Ed qualification can also apply; or Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two years Diploma in Elementary Education
For Teachers of Classes VI-VIII (Paper II)
- Candidates for this category should have Bachelor Degree (B.Sc./B.A./B.Com etc.) candidates with 2 year D.Ed./ B.Ed (OR) 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) / 4-year BA/ B.Sc.Ed or B.A. (Ed.)/B.Sc. (Ed.) / B. Ed (Special Education) with 50% in BA or B.Sc. both Appearing & passed candidates are eligible
For Lecturers of Class XI-XII
- Candidates for this category should possess the Post Graduate (PG) Degree in the concerned subject with at least 50% marks from a recognized university. Matric with Hindi/Sanskrit or Sr. Secondary/Graduation/Post Graduation with Hindi as one of the Subjects
- 83 marks for SC/ PwD candidates and 90 marks for all other including other State candidates
Age Limit
- Candidates should have Min 18 years to Max 38 years of age limit
Application Process
- Eligible candidates who fulfill eligibility criteria can apply for HTET 2022 through online mode from 17th September 2022 through website www.hteonline.com / www.htet.nic.in
- Carefully go through the Information Bulletin “Guidelines/Instructions-Scheme of Exam” available on the website of the board www.htet.nic.in
- Submitting Aadhar Card Number is desirable while applying for Online Application
- Proceed for remittance of examination fee through e-challan as per instructions given on the aforesaid website of the Board

Paper Pattern
HTET Syllabus Level – I – For becoming Teacher for Classes I-V : Primary Teacher
There shall be only one paper. All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) each carrying one mark with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct.
No. of MCQs – 150; Duration of examination: 2.30 Hours.
Structure and Content (All Compulsory):
- Child Development and Pedagogy 30 MCQs 30 Marks
- Language I (Hindi) 30 MCQs 30 Marks
- Language II (English) 30 MCQs 30 Marks
- Mathematics 30 MCQs 30 Marks
- Environmental Studies 30 MCQs 30 Marks
Nature And Standard Of Questions:
- The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the age group of 6-11 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics and needs of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.
- The Test items for Language – I (Hindi) will focus on the proficiency related to the medium of instruction.
- The Language II (English) will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.
- The test items in Mathematics and Environmental Studies will focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of the subjects. In all these subject areas, the test items shall be evenly distributed over different divisions of the syllabus of that subject prescribed for classes I-V by the Education Department, Govt. of Haryana.
- The questions in the tests for Level-I will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus for classes I-V, but their difficulty standard, as well as linkages, could be upto the secondary stage.
HTET SYLLABUS Level – II – For becoming Teacher for Classes VI-VIII: Elementary Stage(TGT)
There shall be only one paper. All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) each carrying one mark with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct.
No. of MCQs–150; Duration of Examination: Two-and-a-half hours.
Structure and Content:
- Child Development & Pedagogy (Compulsory) 30 MCQs 30 Marks
- Language I – (English) (Compulsory) 30 MCQs 30 Marks
- Language II 30 MCQs 30 Marks (Hindi/Sanskrit/Panjabi/Urdu – Choose any one)(iv) (a) For Mathematics and Science Teacher: Mathematics and Science: 60 MCQs 60 Marks(b) For Social Studies teacher: Social Studies: 60 MCQs 60 Marks(c) For Hindi/English/Sanskrit/Panjabi/Urdu/Home Science/Physical Education/Art/Music Teacher: Choose either (iv) (a) OR iv (b) – 60 MCQs 60 Marks
Nature And Standard Of Questions:
- The test items on Child Development and Pedagogy will focus on educational psychology of teaching and learning, relevant to the age group of 11-14 years. They will focus on understanding the characteristics, needs and psychology of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning.
- The test items for Language I (English) will focus on the proficiency related to the medium of instruction.
- The Language II (Hindi/Sanskrit/Panjabi/Urdu) will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.
- The test items in Mathematics and Science, and Social Studies will focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of these subjects. The test items of Mathematics and Science will be of 30 marks each. The test items shall be evenly distributed over different divisions of the syllabus of that subject as prescribed for classes VI-VIII by the Board of School Education Haryana.
- The questions in the tests for Level-2 will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus of the Board of School Education Haryana for classes VIVIII but their difficulty standard as well linkages could be upto the senior secondary stage.
HTET Syllabus Level – 3: Post Graduate Teacher (PGT)
There shall be only one paper in this category. All questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) each carrying one mark with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. No. of MCQs–150; Duration of Examination: Two-and-a-half hours.

- The Language II (English) will focus on the elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities relevant to the age group of 14-17 years.
- The test items in subject specific will focus on the concepts, problem solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of these subjects. The test items shall be evenly distributed over different divisions of the syllabus of that subject as prescribed for classes IX-XII by the Board of School Education Haryana.
- The questions in the test will be based on the topics of the prescribed syllabus of the Board of School Education Haryana for classes IX-XII but their difficulty standard as well linkages could be upto the Post-Graduate level.

HTET Admit Card 2022
- Admit Cards will not be sent by Post
- Admit card will be available on the Board’s website; every eligible candidate may download his/her admit card from the website www.htet.nic.in with effect onwards and appear in the exam at the allotted exam centre
Cutoff
The cut off score depends on the difficulty level of exam, availability of seats, number of applicants, etc. Based on the cut-off score examination authority prepares the merit list and candidates are called for counseling.
Results
The candidates are required to enter their respective HTET Roll Numbers for checking their results and downloading of their scorecards. The result will furnish the rank secured by the candidates. Based on the result of HTET and the cutoff screening, eligible candidates would be selected for the next round of the selection process.
Counseling
Candidates who are qualified in Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test will be called for the counseling process of HTET.
