The GATE exam is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs): IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee. The responsibility of organizing the exam rotates among these institutes every year. These institutes manage the entire process including application submission, admit card issuance, conducting the examination, evaluation of answer sheets, and declaration of results.
