The stray vacancy round is the final round of NEET UG counseling conducted to fill any remaining vacant seats after the mop-up round. In this round, seats are filled directly by the respective colleges from a list of eligible candidates provided by the counseling authority. Candidates cannot register fresh for this round; only those already registered and eligible in previous rounds are considered. Once a seat is allotted in the stray vacancy round, candidates usually cannot resign from the seat.
