Previously, institutions like AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) and JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research) conducted their own entrance examinations for MBBS admissions. However, since 2019, these separate exams have been discontinued and admissions to MBBS courses in AIIMS and JIPMER institutes are now conducted through NEET UG. Candidates must therefore qualify NEET and participate in centralized counseling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) to secure admission in these institutions.
