MCQs are the most common question type in GATE. Each question provides four options (A, B, C, D), and only one choice is correct. These questions carry either 1 or 2 marks. There is a strict negative marking policy: for a 1-mark question, 1/3 mark is deducted for an incorrect answer; for a 2-mark question, 2/3 mark is deducted. No marks are deducted for unattempted questions.
