NEET UG counseling is conducted to allocate seats in medical colleges based on candidates' ranks and preferences. The counseling process for the 15% All India Quota seats, central universities, AIIMS, JIPMER, and deemed universities is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The remaining 85% state quota seats are filled through counseling conducted by individual state authorities. The counseling process generally includes registration, choice filling, seat allotment, document verification, and reporting to the allotted college. Multiple rounds of counseling may take place, including a mop-up round and stray vacancy round.
