West Bengal State Eligibility Test 2016 has been conducted in December 2016. WBSET Result 2016 has been compiled and announced by the West Bengal College Service Commission, or WBCSC. Candidates who have appeared for the exam can check final answer keys, subject wise and category wise cut offs, and Result of WB SET 2016 online. Eligibility Criteria

Master’s Degree in a relevant subject with at least 55% Marks (50% Marks in respect of SC/ST/OBC/PWD Candidates) or an equivalent grade preceded by at least a Second Class 3-year Bachelor’s degree from an Indian University /institution recognized by UGC or an equivalent degree from a Foreign University. Candidates pursuing Post Graduate courses are also eligible to appear at SET subject to the condition that they must obtain their Post Graduate degree with 55% or 50% marks, whichever is applicable, within two years from the date of holding of the SET.

Notes –

  1. The minimum marks of 55% or 50%, as the case may be, must not involve any rounding off procedure.
  2. The Ph.D. degree holders whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September, 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e., from 55% to 50%) for appearing in SET.

    How to Apply

    - Candidates have to visit our web portal www.examinationonline.in/wbcscportal and apply online.

    - On-line Application facility along with the necessary Information will be available from the above-mentioned portal from September 2016, 12 noon. The last date of submission of Online Application Form is unknown.

    - Candidates need not submit any hard copy of their application form, but they should retain a copy for future reference. Incomplete Application Forms are liable to be cancelled without any refund of Application Fees.

    - A valid e-mail ID and Mobile Number are mandatory for registration and email ID should be kept active at least till the counselling process is notified for further communication. You are advised to read “Advertisement” and “How To Apply” carefully and then fill the online application form with utmost care as no correspondence regarding changes/modifications will be entertained later.

    - The main page shows each step to be followed. Perform the steps one by one to complete your online registration process. It’s a sequential process where the next step will only get activated after successful completion of the previous step. Therefore, please complete each step carefully and validate your candidature.

    - Please enter your details in the correct place and while entering data please follow the sequence of the registration form to get better output.

    Exam Pattern

    The Test will consist of three papers. All the three papers will consist of only objective type questions.

    Paper - I shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. Sixty (60) multiple choice questions of two marks each will be given, out of which the candidate would be required to answer any fifty (50). In the event of the candidate attempting more than fifty questions, the first fifty questions attempted by the candidate would be evaluated.

    Paper-II shall consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions based on the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will carry 2 marks.

    Paper-III will consist of 75 objective type compulsory questions from the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will carry 2 marks.

    Syllabus

    Paper-I shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. All questions of Paper-II and Paper-III will be compulsory, covering the entire syllabus (including all electives, without options) for the subject concerned. The candidate will have to mark the responses for questions of Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III on the OMR sheet provided along with the Test Booklet.

    Admit Card / Hall Ticket

    The candidate should verify all the information in the admit card. If any issue is found, then get it corrected with the concerned authority.

    The candidates are required to carry the admit card to the examination hall. Without it, you will not be allowed to enter the examination hall. It is also very important to document for the further admission processes.

    Cutoff

    Candidates have who score more than cut off Marks would feature in the merit list. Candidates names included in the merit list will be called for counselling rounds.
