West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) invites applications for admissions to Joint Entrance Examination for the Lateral Entry for the academic year 2016- 17.
JELET is an yearly exam conducted for admissions to 2nd year of study in the four year for Courses (3rd Semester) of Bachelor Degree in Engineering/Technology and Pharmacy (Except Architecture) college in West Bengal.
Joint Entrance Examination for the Lateral Entry (JELET) admission is conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB)
Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:
- Candidates should have passed Diploma examination from an AICTE approved institution with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category)
- Candidates should have Passed B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and pass XII standard with Mathematics as a subject
- Provided that in case of students belonging to B.Sc. stream shall have to clear the subjects of Engineering. Graphics/Engineering Drawing & Engineering Mechanics of the 1st year Engineering Program along with the second year subjects
- Provided further that the students belonging to B.Sc. stream shall be considered only after filling the supernumerary seats in this category with students belonging to the Diploma Stream
- Provided further that students, who have passed Diploma in Engineering and Technology from an AICTE approved institution or B.Sc. Degree from a recognized University as defined by UGC shall also be eligible
Only those candidates will be treated as domicile of West Bengal who are either a) Residing in West Bengal continuously at least for last 10 (ten) years as on 31st December 2015 (or) b) Whose parent(s) is/are permanent resident(s) of West Bengal having permanent address within the State of West Bengal

Step-1 Registration
Candidate has to input name, date of birth, gender, e-mail id and mobile number and password. Candidate must take utmost care to give these inputs. If mistakes are committed there is no chance of correction. The given mobile number and e-mail id will be used for all further communication
At the end of this step the candidate may opt to logout or continue to next step. For further log in, candidate has to use his/her application number, date of birth and password
Step-2 Application Form
In this step the candidate has to enter his/her personal and academic information and also two choices of examination centre. The fields mark with (*) are mandatory fields, i.e. mandatory to be filled in
Step-3 Image Upload
At this step the candidate has to upload scanned copies of his/her photograph, signature, LTI and Admit Card/Mark sheet of 10th standard as age proof
Step-4 Payment and Confirmation
The candidate will be directed to the page of fee payment and will have following two options:
a) Payment by Debit/Credit Card: Candidate has to select Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking option to pay the fee of Rs.500/- + service charges and follow the instruction to complete the payment process. After successful payment, candidate will be able to print the “Confirmation Page”
b) Payment by Allahabad Bank Challan: Candidate has to select ‘Offline payment mode’ to deposit the fee. As soon as he/she selects the option, ‘e-challan’ will be generated containing specific details of the candidate along with amount Rs.500 + bank’s service charges to be paid
The candidate has to take a printout of the same and logout. He/she has to take it to any branch of Allahabad Bank for making payment
JELET Important dates section aims to list all important dates such as date of availability of form, last submission date, result date, counselling date, etc.
The said examination will be of two-hour duration
All questions will be of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) type (four options including single correct answer). Candidate will be required to answer 100 (hundred) questions, each carrying 1 (one) mark. For each incorrect response (answer) 1/4 mark will be deducted. All questions will have to be answered on specially designed machine gradable OMR answer sheets
Answers are to be marked using Black/ Blue Ball Pen. There will be one common question paper for all branches of Engineering/Technology and separate question papers for (i) Pharmacy branch (ii) Degree in Science (B.Sc.) candidates
The questions will be in English language only. Overwriting on the OMR Sheet or more than one answers for a question will lead to cancellation of the particular answer of the question
