West Bengal joint Entrance Examinations Engineering (WB JEE Engineering)

The west Bengal joint Entrance Examinations Board was formed as west Bengal Board of Examination for Admission to Engineering Degree Colleges in the year 1962, born out of a concept of holding a common admission test for the Engineering colleges of the State of West Bengal. The basic purpose was to select candidates for consideration for admission to the State Colleges on the basis of the results of a single competitive examination, which would also lead to saving of time, energy and expenditure on the part of the candidates in appearing at number of entrance tests.

Important Dates

Eligibility Criteria

• Interested candidates must be a citizen of India.
• Candidates must be 17 years old as on or before 31^st Dec 2020. For Marine engineering, must not be more than 25 years as on 31^st July 2020.
• Candidates must have citizenship of West Bengal. Domicile is not required in case you want to get admission into private or self-aided university).
• Interested candidates those are interested in getting admission at Jadhavpur University, must have passed 10+2 examination from state board or CBSE board and secured minimum 60% of marks (for reserved category candidates the minimum scored mark is 55%).
• Apart from Jadavpur university, if candidates want to get admission at any other institution, they must have secured minimum 45% marks (the mark is 40% for reserved category candidates).
• Candidates should not have any medical illness.

How to Apply

- Candidates have to fill up the application form online.

- Candidates will require filling their personal details.

- Candidates will need to choose a password and a security question and answer.

- After the successful submission of the application form, an application no. will be generated for the candidates’ future reference.

- After the application no. is generated and the password is chosen, the next step will be to upload the required documents and images.

- Candidates will require uploading images of their recent coloured passport size photograph, signature, left hand thumb impression, and other applicable documents.

- After uploading the required documents and images, candidates will need to pay the application fee.

- Candidates can pay the fee of Rs 500 (plus bank’s service charge) either through debit/ credit card or through Allahabad bank Challan.

- After paying the fee, a confirmation page will be generated.

- Candidates must ensure to print the confirmation page and keep it safe for future reference.

Exam Pattern

• All questions asked in the exam will be MCQ type along with four options.
• Candidates need to answer questions in OMR Answer Sheet by using blue/black ball point pen only.

Question Paper Category Details

Marking Scheme for Question Category 1

• Candidates need to make one correct answer.
• One mark will be provided to every correct answer.
• For every negative response, ¼ marks gets deducted.

Marking Scheme for Question Category 2

• Candidates are required to mark only one right answer.
• 2 marks will be provided for every correct response, whereas ½ marks gets deducted for negative response.

Marking Scheme for Question Category 3

• Questions belonging to this category may have one or more than one answer is correct.
• Candidates will be given 2 marks if they have marked all correct answers of a question.
• In case your answer is partially correct then marks awarded = 2 X (no of correct options marked) / (total no of actually correct options).

Syllabus

Admit Card / Hall Ticket

The candidate should verify all the information in the admit card. If any issue is found, then get it corrected with the concerned authority.

The candidates are required to carry the admit card to the examination hall. Without it, you will not be allowed to enter the examination hall. It is also very important to document for the further admission processes.

Results

WBJEE 2020 official notification has announced and according to that WBJEE 2020 result will be published in August 7, 2020.
