VMSIIHE students Arnosh Menezes and Urvashi Khona selected to train at World’s Tallest Hotel, the prestigious, JW Marriott Marquis Hotel, Dubai.

When it comes to job applications, work experience is highly valued by most companies. Summer internships are a great way to enhance one’s skills and learn while on the job. As a part of the curriculum, students from V. M. Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education (VMSIIHE) have to undergo 24 weeks of rigorous industry training at starred properties of repute.

This year’s summer placement recruitment process saw some of the biggest brands in the hospitality industry look towards VMSIIHE for their industry recruitment needs. Arnosh Menezes and Urvashi Khona, two students from the present batch have been selected to undergo six months of industry training at the prestigious JW Marriott Marquis Hotel, Dubai.

Students of the institute were put through a tough selection process which included numerous interviews and elimination rounds, post which, Arnosh and Urvashi were selected.The new 5-star destination in Dubai, the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel is a striking addition to an already spectacular city. As the world's tallest hotel, itboasts over 1,608 guest rooms and suites spread out across two towers and 72 spectacular floors offering panoramic views of the city of Dubai.

Other resorts and hotels who recruited students for the summer placement opportunities included Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai; The Oberoi, Bengaluru; JW Marriott Hotel, Pune; Four Seasons Hotel, Mumbai; Taj Exotica, Goa;Vivanta By Taj - Fort Aguada, Goa; Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa and Goa Marriott Resort & Spa.

During the industry training project, students will be reporting to a training manager at each hotel and will undergo training in various departments such as Food & Beverage, Food Production, Housekeeping, Front office,etc. A detailed log book will need to be maintained by each student to document their daily tasks. Students will also be required to share a report with the institute on their return to Goa.
