VMSIIHE holds an Induction Ceremony at its institute in Raia

V. M. Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education (VMSIIHE) recently conducted an Induction Ceremony for its new batch of students for the academic year 2016-17 at its campus in Raia. Also present were parents and guidance of the students. This year VMSIIHE has witnessed admissions from the students from Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Kerala besides Goa. International students from Thailand and UAE have also joined the present batch.

The ceremony started with a welcome address by Prof. Mirza, Director, VMSIIHE followed by an introduction of the faculty and the staff. The students were briefed about the culture of the institute and its legacy. The students had an opportunity to interact with the faculty, staff as well as the Second Year Students of the institute which helped them to get a better understanding of life on campus.

Said Professor Irfan Mirza, Director, V.M Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education, “At VMSIIHE, we offer a unique curriculum and world-class infrastructure to prepare the students for the ever changing needs of the hospitality industry. Our goal is to make this institute the centre of excellence for the hospitality industry in India. We are here to ensure that all our students have acquired the knowledge and skills that are unmatched in this field. The students have an opportunity to get train under the guidance of senior industry and academic experts. The induction ceremony outlined the culture, legacy and vision of the institute to the students.”

Said Atul Harikumar, hailing from Kerala who was earlier pursuing a degree in engineering “I am happy that I have left engineering and became part of the VMSIIHE family. The induction ceremony gave me a chance to get to know the college in a better way as my parents also liked the college campus and faculty.”

Goan student, Sairaj Tari said “the faculty and the staff of VMSIIHE are very motivational and inspiring and I look forward to gaining valuable skills over the next three years. The facilities provided by the college made me choose VMSIIHE to enhance my career.”

The students and the parents were impressed with a wide range of facilities and world class standards adopted by the institute. Affiliated to the Goa University and with an option to pursue a post-graduate degree at HTMi Switzerland, VMSIIHE offers a B.Sc in International Hospitality Management.With the strategic partnership with HTMi institute in Switzerland now in place, students who have successfully completed the 3-year International Hospitality degree at VMSIIHE in Goa will be eligible to be enrolled in the Master’s program at HTMi Switzerland. The duration of this program comprises of 1 academic semester of taught modules, followed by the completion of a master’s dissertation within 6 months of the completion of the taught modules. Upon completion, students will receive 3 post graduate degrees. A Post-graduation diploma in Hospitality Management, an M.Sc. in hospitality and tourism management and an MBA in hospitality Management from HTMi.
