The Vellalar Educational Trust, bearing the No: 20/1969, Dt 24-10-1969 was formed for the purpose of providing quality education to the students, especially to the rural area student community. Hence vellalar Educational trust is one of the pioneers in the field of education from the year 1969 onwards. At present, the trust has 851 members from various feilds. To start with, the trust started government Aided Womens college in the name and style of vellalar Arts and Science college for women (VCW) in the year 1970 and this was the only womens college then in Erode. Now it stands second in the Bharathiyar University Coimbatore
