Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology(VSSUT), Odisha formerly known as University College of Engineering, (UCE) Burla was established in the year 1956 as the first engineering college of the State at the foothill of the world famous Hirakud dam. Since then, India has come a long way and so have we. VSSUT, Odisha has carved a niche for itself among the best technical institutes inIndia and is a dream institute for many budding engineers. We, at VSSUT, have an uncompromising attitude towards academic rigor and ethics. Our aim has always been to strive for excellence. The highly dedicated faculty ensures constant innovation in learning and ensures development of the students at the same time. The sheer diversity of Indian economy and society, whose different shades are represented among the students and faculty, prepares the students to work in global multicultural corporations. The industry- institute partnership is very significant for a dynamic economy as well as quality technical education. Engineers are increasingly becoming managers and we tend to bridge this gap by not just producing skilled technical personnel but leaders of tomorrow. When we look back, we are filled with nostalgia and pride. We hope we continue to better ourselves in the days to come, producing not just engineers, but men of substance . The University has conducted already three of its convocations the 1st on 25th Feb. 2010 , the second on 9th October 2010 and the third one on 6th Aug. 2011. I am confident that with the concerted efforts of the management, faculty, staff and students, and Alumni, the University will scale new heights of excellence in the years to come.
