Dr. A.P.J Abdul kalam at sanskriti

9th May, 2012 was a historical day at Sanskriti Group of Institutions when His Excellency Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, 11th President of India, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. More than 8000 students including of Sanskriti Group & nearby schools marked their presence during the launch of “What Can I Give” Chapter at the campus.

His Excellency expressed his pleasure to launch the Chapter from the Holy City, Mathura. Dr. Kalam was here to inculcate the “spirit of giving” and bring about an attitudinal change from \\\"What Can I Take\\\" to \\\"What Can I give” to the Nation bring about the efficient and corruption free government; and a society which is compassionate, environment conscious and morally upright. Focusing on the objectives Of: What Can I Give”, a self motivated and youth shared movement, and uniqueness of each individual; he started his speech with an inspirational poem “I am born with potential --- I have wings and I will fly”. In reply to his query “Are you all ready to fly with me?” Everyone was excited to reply “Yes” in a loud voice.
To make the Nation happy and prosperous he suggested a simple rule - making others happy, especially the mother as smile spreads happiness. He insisted to \\\"Make Your Mother Smile\\\" because when mother is happy, family is happy; when family is happy, the society is happy, and when society is happy, Nation is happy.
Signifying the importance of learning, he specified “Learning gives creativity. Creativity leads to thinking. Thinking provides knowledge and Knowledge makes you great. He also emphasized that whenever one gives services to someone, it should be done with a smile and with heart which asks, \\\"What can I give\\\".
After motivational speech by Dr. Kalam, prizes and certificates were distributed by His Excellency to the students of Sanskriti group of institutions and other nearby schools for outstanding performance in different fields. Certificates and prizes were also distributed to the students who suggested ideas to contribute in “What can I give” Mission. The successful candidates in scholarship examinations organized by Sanskriti group were also awarded certificate of merit with prizes.
