UPES will be selecting students based on Merit Performance in UPES MTECH Engineering Entrance Test (UPES-MEET). Candidates having qualified GATE are eligible and exempted from UPES MTECH Engineering Entrance Test (UPES-MEET). UPES-MEET is conducted for taking admission to Master of Technology (M.Tech) program offered in various specialisations for the session.

Eligibility Criteria

  • For Direct admissions, Candidates must have a valid GATE score
  • Candidates must have passed B.E/B.Tech in their respective disciplines with a minimum of 60% in aggregate
  • Candidates must also have obtained a minimum 60% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th)

How to Apply

1. Online:

Candidates have to first register to receive a validation email from UPES on the registered email id.
After clicking on the link provided in the email from UPES and verifying their email ID, candidates can fill the application form
Candidates must first fill their personal details, choose and set the password, fill the academic details and make the payment by Credit card/ Debit card Uploading of photograph and signature is allowed but not mandatory.

2. By Post:

Candidates can send a demand draft of Rs.1,850 in favour of "UPES Fee Account", payable at New Delhi to
University of Petroleum & Energy Studies, Enrollments Office,
UPES, 210, 2nd Floor,
Okhla Industrial Estate,
New Delhi 110020.

3. In Person:

The UPES Prospectus & Application can be purchased by a cash payment of Rs.1,750 from admission counters at Ahmedabad / Chandigarh / Cochin / Coimbatore / Delhi / Dehradun / Hyderabad / Kolkata / Mumbai. Click here for the addresses

Selection Process

UPES will be selecting students based on Merit Performance in UPES MTECH Engineering Entrance Test (UPES-MEET) for M.Tech Admission.

Exam Pattern

Candidates having qualified GATE are eligible and exempted from UPES MTECH Engineering Entrance Test (UPES-MEET).

Admit Card / Hall Ticket

The candidate should verify all the information in the admit card. If any issue is found, then get it corrected with the concerned authority.

The candidates are required to carry the admit card to the examination hall. Without it, you will not be allowed to enter the examination hall. It is also very important to document for the further admission processes.


The candidates are also advised to download the Rank Cards from the UPES website after publication of results.


  • Counselling will be held in three phases.
  • Candidates who are shortlisted must attend in person with their original documents for verification.
  • Seat allotment will be on the basis of the course choice of the candidates, academic performance, and performance in UPES MEET 2016. GATE qualified candidates will be allotted seats on the basis of their valid GATE 2016/GATE 2017 scores.
  • Candidates offered admissions will have to pay the ffes and confirm their admissions
