Departments Under CBCS Pattern, University of Madras, Chennai invites applications for admissions to Master’s Degree Programmes for the academic year 2021 - 2022.

Master’s Degree Programmes is conducted by University of Madras, Chennai.

Courses Offered:

Master’s Degree Programmes in Geoinformatics under private study (CBCS-Semester Pattern)


The course is designed for management level training for duration of two years consisting of four semesters.

Eligibility Criteria:

Interested candidates should fulfill following eligibility criteria:

=> A Candidate who has passed Any Bachelor’s degree Degree pass in relevant subject.

=> Candidates with degrees in other subject areas will be considered if they can demonstrate interest, aptitude and experience in a field relevant to the application of geospatial technology

Application Procedure:

Candidates are advised to refer to official notifications /documents for detailed application procedure. published details for informational purpose.

Separate application forms at a cost of Rs.354/- (Inclusive of 18% GST- Rs. 54/-) shall be submitted through email and also by post directly to the concern department for each programme (including regular and self-supportive programmes) offered by the different Departments.

15 percent supernumerary seats are available in all the PG Programmes (regular courses only) for Foreign Nationals including NRIs. Two supernumerary seats are available for the students from Jammu & Kashmir in all the departments.

The fees paid by candidates who have joined any course but withdrawn before the commencement of the classes only will be refunded, after deduction of Rs.1000/- as per the UGC Guidelines (Notification F.No.1-3/2007 CPP II dated 23.04.2007). All refunds will be made by Cheque payment only.

Application submitted through online shall be printed and the scanned soft copy emailed to respective departments and also sent the hard copy directly to the Head of the concern Department (as per department wise given address and email id provided below) along with duly self-attested proof for the payment of application cost and copies of necessary certificates with documents (SSLC and HSC certificates, Community certificate if claimed, Transfer certificate (TC), Statement of marks, Provisional/Degree certificate, Proof for any concession claimed etc. duly self-attested) on or before 15.07.2021.

Selection Process

Admissions to PG. Programmes for the academic year 2021-2022 are based on the marks obtained in the basic qualifying examination (100 percent). The percentage of marks shall be calculated based on the marks obtained in both elective and core courses in the University of Madras examinations and only the marks of core courses for other Universities. In certain PG Programmes where multiple streams of
students are eligible, the basic qualifying examination (50 percent) and entrance examination (50 percent) will be taken into account. The details about conduct of entrance examination such as (platform, date and time) shall be published in the University web site at a later date and also intimated to the applicants through the email and SMS to registered mobile number.
