Eligibility Criteria

- The candidate should be a graduate in any discipline (pass/honours/vocational etc) from a recognized university.
- Those who have appeared for final examination and awaiting results are also eligible to apply.
- There is no age bar.
- Reservation for SC/ST and physically Handicapped candidates as per rules and University norms.

How to Apply

The Application Form can be downloaded from the official website of Calcutta University: www.caluniv.ac.in.

The candidate should download the form, and complete it in all respects along with the proof of payment of Rs. 250/= by University cash Challan from 25th July till 25th August 2016.

The Application fees should be deposited with the Calcutta University through Cash Challan by the candidate. Counterpart of the Slip in original after Cash deposition is to be attached with the application form.

Selection Procedure

Out of 55 seats, admission to 35 seats are through written test, and for the rest 20 seats interview is conducted. The candidates qualifying in the written test are exempted from interview.

Written Test

Question for the written test is set in English and are objective in nature. Emphasis is put on general knowledge, current affairs, proficiency in the language, reasoning, audiovisual media etc.

The written test will be conducted on September 4, 2016 (Sunday) at 10:30 am (duration: not more than one and a half hours) on General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Media, Cinema, Culture etc.

The test will be conducted on September 4, 2016 (Sunday) at 10:30 am. The duration will not be more than one and a half hours. The test will be conducted at Ritwik Hall, Hardinge Building, 4th Floor, College street campus.

Candidates will need to show their admit cards before they enter the examination hall.

Interview

Out of 55 seats, admission to 20 seats will be through the interview. This is for candidates having Journalism & Mass Communication / Film Studies / Videography as Honours / Pass / Vocational subjects at the Graduation level. Such candidates should write MS-20 on top of the application form. Otherwise they will be treated as candidates for the written test.

The interview will be conducted on 6th September 2016 at 12-00 pm at RITWIK HALL, Hardinge building, 4th Floor, College Street Campus.

Candidates will need to show their admit cards before they enter the examination hall.

Results

The results will be published on the notice board of the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication on September 9, 2016 at 3 pm
