16 February 2016, New Delhi: Centre for Education Growth and Research, organized a lecture session in collaboration with the New Delhi Institute of Management, Tughlakabad. The lecture session focused on ‘Need for a strategy for a successful Corporate Career’.The workshop was inaugurated by a welcome speech by the NDIM Chairman, Mr. Vishva Mohan Kumar Bansal. The session was delivered by Mr. Sudarshan Bannerjee, President, Starting Point Global and former MD and CEO, Kodak, Vodafone and Amway. In his address, Mr. Bannerjee told the students that the Indian commercial world has become quite complex as well as challenging. The earlier dominance of the manufacturing sector has been gradually taken over by the Service sector. In such a scenario, you need a well-thought out strategy to succeed in the corporate world. While sharing his personal experiences with the students, he advised them to follow what their heart says. He advised the students to be keen and curious learners, ready to acquire new skills and focus on networking and soft skills, besides being innovative, which are an essential component of the service sector in the new knowledge economy. In his closing remarks he said that the students need to be such personalities that are always spreading happiness, ever willing to help and ready to alleviate people’s fears and worries. A large number of students as well as the faculty participated in the session. The session was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Tina Singh, Registrar-New Delhi Institute of Management.
