Scad College of education, cheranmahadevi, Tirunelveli is owned by SCAD (Social Change and Development) Trust which is a charitable organization. It is a co-educational residential self financing institution.It’s recognized by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bangalore.
It is affiliated to Tamilnadu Teachers Education University, Chennai. The college offers one year B.Ed., Degree Course with an intake of 100 students.The college was structured in 2006 by Shri. Cletus Babu, (Chairman, SCAD Group of Institutions) inspired by Smt. Amali Cletus. Being a dedicated educationist and socialist, he started this institution with healthy campus environment, modern amenities, latest infrastructures and well qualified faculty in order to provide better teacher Education.The College is successfully stepping into 5th year.

Our great nation has given birth to many visionaries, leaders and social changes. One among them is Dr.Cletus Babu, who was born on 12th October, 1952 in a remote village in kanyakumari district, Tamilnadu. After completing his graduation, he responded to his inner call and committed to the service of the under privileged brothers and sisters, His love and passion towards Mother Terasa transformed him into a full time social worker. Understanding the presence of Almighty God in every human being, he started his service with the motto reaching the unreached in the society.

Our chairman and Vice chairperson were conferred Honorary Doctorate Degree (HONORIS CAUSA) for their outstanding services in the fields of social work and Education on 7.12.2008 by the International Tamil University, Maryland, USA. He founded the great Organization “SCAD” (Social Change And Development) through which lakhs of people are benefited. In executing all the activities, he is ably assisted by his better half Dr.Amali Cletus Babu, His guiding principle is “Service to Mankind is Service to God”

Today, thousands of students are produced as professionals, but the need of the hour is only few leaders with strong character imbibed with values to take this nation to the highest level. SCAD institutions were founded with a vision to develop the professionals, who have zeal for growth of the nation and burden for the under privileged. We aim to make these institutions to the World class standard. Our students have already established many records. Specially when we saw our students' love for Tsunami affected brothers and sisters, our hearts were overwhelmed and gained hope that our students shall bring positive changes to the nation.
