Scholarship
World Trade Organisation (WTO) is inviting applications from young economists for WTO Essay Award to submit essays to promote high-quality research on trade policy and international trade co-operation and to reinforce the relationship between the WTO and the academic community. The annual WTO Essay Award provides a prize of CHF 5000 to the author(s) of the winning essay. In the case of a co-authored paper, the prize will be equally divided among the authors.
Important Dates
- Essay submission deadline: 31 May 2019
- Shortlisting of eligible papers: By 14 June 2019
- Final decision by the selection panel: By 10 July 2019
Eligibility
To be eligible, the applicant must possess a PhD or be engaged in the completion of a PhD degree and, if over 30 years of age, be no more than two years past his/her PhD defence.
How to Apply
Step 1: Write an essay/paper (not more than 15,000 words) addressing issues related to trade policy and international trade co-operation.
Step 2: Submit the essay by email to [email protected].
Note: The essay/paper can be co-authored too.
