Scholarship
The School of Literature, Languages and Linguistics at the Australian National University (ANU) invites applications for the Sydney Speaks Master’s Thesis Award from Master’s degree applicants. The scholarship scheme is to support students while they undertake a Master’s (advanced) thesis in linguistics at ANU. The objective of the scholarship is to offer a stipend to these students who are writing a thesis on variation and change in Australian English thus contributing to the Sydney Speaks project. Students can benefit from a scholarship worth USD 4000 per annum.

Application period: 1 March – 30 April 2019
Eligibility
- Should have enrolled or should be enrolling in the Master’s of General and Applied Linguistics (Advanced) program at ANU
- Should be enrolled or approved to be enrolled in a relevant Linguistics thesis course in the School of Literature, Languages and Linguistics, namely THES8102
- Should be interested in researching variation and change in Australian English that will contribute to the Sydney Speaks project
