Scholarship

This scholarship supports postgraduate students to conduct research into the history of the Polynesian, Melanesian and Micronesian communities.

This scholarship provides a stipend equivalent to the minimum Research Training Program (RTP) stipend rate for the following duration, subject to satisfactory academic performance:

  • up to two years for a PhD recipient
  • up to 1.75 years for a master’s by research recipient.

An allowance for eligible expenses may be provided if the recipient relocates to take up this scholarship, the value of relocation expenses will be determined by the Academic Board.

Academic course fees and Student Services and Amenities fees are not provided for international recipients.

  • Postgraduate research student in the Department of Anthropology, Archaeology or History
  • Research into the history of the South Sea Islands
